Section 5001.1 - Signals - Radio, Telephone or Other Electronic Transmission of Signals

(a) The device(s) used to transmit signals shall be tested on site before beginning operations to ensure that the signal transmission is effective, clear, and reliable.
(b) Signal transmission shall be through a dedicated channel, except:
(c) The operator's reception of signals shall be by a hands-free system.
(d) The signal person shall audibly or visually signal the operator if the signal person becomes aware that communication with the operator has been interrupted during hoisting operations and the operator shall safely stop operations in accordance with Section 5001(h).
