Section 5031.2 - Inspection - Modifications or Additions

(a) Equipment that has had modifications or additions which affect the safe operation of the equipment or capacity (such as modifications or additions involving a critical part of a control system, power plant, or load sustaining structural components) shall be inspected by a certified agent after such modifications/additions have been completed, prior to initial use.
(b) Such modifications or additions shall meet or exceed manufacturer's specifications and the original safety factors of the equipment shall not be reduced.
(c) The inspection shall meet all of the following requirements:
EXCEPTION: These inspections may be performed by a qualified person for cranes not exceeding 3 tons rated capacity.

Filing deadline specified in Government Code section 11349.3(a) extended 60 calendar days pursuant to Executive Order N-40-20 and an additional 60 calendar days pursuant to Executive Order N-71-20.
