Open conductors, open multiconductor cables, and service-drop conductors of not over 600 volts, nominal, shall conform to the following minimum clearances:

Installations built before May 5, 2008:

..........................Above areas (other than thoroughfares) where it is possible to drive vehicles..........................16 feet (4.88 m)
..........................Above areas accessible to pedestrians only..........................12 feet (3.66 m)

16 ft. (4.88 m)301 to 600 V Over residential property and driveways. Over commercial areas subject to pedestrian traffic or to vehicular traffic other than truck traffic. (This category includes conditions covered under the 12 ft. (3.66 m) category where the voltage exceeds 300 V.)
18 ft. (5.49 m)<600 V
