(a) Definition.

Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities. That portion of a property where motor fuels are stored and dispensed from fixed equipment into the fuel tanks of motor vehicles or marine craft or into approved containers, including all equipment used in connection with it.

Other areas used as lubritoriums, service rooms, repair rooms, offices, salesrooms, compressor rooms, and similar locations shall comply with Sections 2540.2 and 2540.5 with respect to electric wiring and equipment.

Where it can be determined that flammable liquids having a flashpoint below 38°C (100°F), such as gasoline, will not be handled, such a location may be classified as nonhazardous.

(b) Hazardous Locations. Title 24, Part 3, California Electrical Code, Article 514 shall be used to delineate classified locations for electrical installations.

(c) Circuit Disconnects. Each circuit leading to or through a dispensing pump, including all associated power, communications, data, and video circuits, and equipment for remote pumping systems, shall be provided with a switch or other approved means, located remote from dispensing devices, to disconnect simultaneously from the source of supply all conductors of the circuit, including the grounded neutral, if any.

(d) Single-pole breakers utilizing handle ties shall not be permitted.
