Article 13 - Agitation and Heating of Liquids in Tanks
Section 6544 - Agitation and Heating of Liquids in Tanks
Tanks in which liquids at temperatures above one hundred and forty degrees Fahrenheit (140° F.), corrosive liquids, or flammable liquids are agitated or heated by steam (applied directly or indirectly), or agitated by means of air or gas pressure, shall have their control equipment located where employees operating it will not be exposed to the hazards of splashes or froth overs. If this is not possible, equivalent protection shall be provided by means of shelter which shall include safe access and exit.
