Section 217.10 - Events Requiring, and Timing of, Medical Assessments

(a) A medical assessment of persons subject to a fitness evaluation shall be commenced by a Board-appointed physician and completed:
(b) A medical assessment may not be required in all instances to make a fitness evaluation under subsections (a)(5), (a)(6), (a)(7), or (a)(8). The need for a medical assessment will be at the discretion of the examining physician, subject to review by the Medical Review Officer, as is described in Section 217.25.

Governor Newsom issued Executive Order N-52-20 (2019 CA EO 52-20), dated April
16, 2020, which temporarily waived certain pilot license renewal requirements,
due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
