Section 3029 - Contracting for Individually Administered Tests of Psychological Functioning Due to the Unavailability of School Psychologists

(a) School districts, county offices, and SELPAs shall ensure that credentialed school psychologists are available to perform individually administered tests of intellectual or emotional functioning pursuant to Education Code section 56320(b)(3).

(b) Due to the temporary unavailability of a credentialed school psychologist, a school district or county office may contract with qualified personnel to perform individually administered tests of intellectual or emotional functioning including necessary reports pursuant to Education Code section 56327.

(c) The district or county office shall seek appropriately credentialed school psychologists for employment. These efforts, which include, but are not limited to, contacting institutions of higher education having approved school psychology programs and utilizing established personnel recruitment practices, shall be documented and available for review.
