(a) Contestants shall only rehydrate orally. Use of intravenous therapies to rehydrate shall prohibit the athlete from competing.

(b) Contestants may be required to submit a urine specimen for a urine specific gravity test prior to competition to verify proper hydration.

1. New section filed 6-15-2016 as an emergency; operative 6-15-2016 (Register 2016, No. 25). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 12-12-2016 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
2. New section refiled 12-7-2016 as an emergency; operative 12-13-2016 (Register 2016, No. 50). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 3-13-2017 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
3. New section refiled 3-14-2017 as an emergency; operative 3-14-2017 (Register 2017, No. 11). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 6-12-2017 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
4. Certificate of Compliance as to 6-15-2016, 12-7-2016 and 3-14-17 orders transmitted to OAL 6-6-2017 and filed 7-12-2017 (Register 2017, No. 28).
