Santa Ana Regional Water Board Resolution R8-2020-0038 amended the Water Quality Control Plan for the Santa Ana Region (Basin Plan). The State Water Resources Control Board approved the amendment under Resolution No. 2021-0018 on June 1, 2021.

The amendment revises Tables 3-1 and 4-1 of the Basin Plan to remove the Bedford, Lee Lake, and Warm Springs Valley Groundwater Management Zones (GMZ) and replace them with the Upper Temescal Valley GMZ; establishes beneficial uses and total dissolved solids and nitrate antidegradation objectives for the Upper Temescal Valley GMZ; and incorporates the Upper Temescal Valley Salt and Nutrient Management Plan into Chapter 5 - Implementation.

1. New section summarizing amendments to basin plan filed 9-21-2021; amendments approved by State Water Resources Control Board Resolution No. 2021-0018 on 6-1-2021; amendments approved by OAL pursuant to Government Code section 11353 on 9-21-2021 (Register 2021, No. 39).
