On March 10, 2022, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Los Angeles Region (Los Angeles Water Board) adopted Resolution No. R22-001 amending the Water Quality Control Plan for the Los Angeles Region (Basin Plan). The State Water Resources Control Board approved the amendment under Resolution No. 2022-0043 on October 18, 2022.

Resolution No. R22-001 adds definitions for three new beneficial uses to the Basin Plan. The beneficial uses added to the Basin Plan are Tribal Traditional Culture (CUL), Tribal Subsistence Fishing (T-SUB), and Subsistence Fishing (SUB). The Basin Plan amendment does not designate any water bodies with these beneficial uses.
