Section 3939.14 - Revised Recreational Water Quality Standards for Ballona Creek Reaches 1 and 2

State Water Resources Control Board Resolution No. 2005-0015, adopted on January 20, 2005, amended the Water Quality Control Plan for the Los Angeles Region by:

(1) dedesignating Water Contact Recreation (REC-1) associated with swimming-related activities as a potential use from "Ballona Creek" (Reach 1) and "Ballona Creek to Estuary" (Reach 2);

(2) designating Limited Water Contact Recreation (LREC-1) as an existing use for Reach 2;

(3) adding a definition for LREC-1;

(4) clarifying the dividing line between Reach 1 and Reach 2; and

(5) adding water quality objectives for bacteria that apply to LREC-1, including geometric mean and single sample limits for E-coli and fecal coliform.
