Section 71901 - Designated Health Facilities

(a) The inpatient treatment of eating disorders shall only be provided in one of the following types of health facilities that have been licensed by the Department:

(1) General acute care hospitals, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 1250 of the Health and Safety Code;

(2) Acute psychiatric hospitals, as defined in subdivision (b) of Section 1250 of the Health and Safety Code; and

(3) Congregate living health facilities, as defined in subdivision (i)(1) of Section 1250 of the Health and Safety Code.

(b) This chapter shall apply only to the inpatient treatment of eating disorders. This chapter does not apply to the outpatient treatment of eating disorders.
