Section 70438.2 - Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Service - Expanded

(a) As used in this section, the following definition applies:
(b) General acute care hospitals that qualify, pursuant to Section 1255(d)(3) of the Health and Safety Code, to provide cardiac catheterization laboratory service in expanded cardiac catheterization laboratory space, may do so, provided that:
(c) Not more than 25 percent of the general acute care hospital's inpatients in need of cardiac catheterization laboratory service may have such procedures performed in the expanded cardiac catheterization laboratory space per calendar year. The general acute care hospital shall maintain records that provide the number of cardiac catheterization procedures performed in the expanded cardiac catheterization laboratory space, and the patient's status as an inpatient or outpatient.
(d) The hospital shall comply with all of the requirements of Sections 70433(a), (b), (c)(1), (e), (i), (j), 70435(a) and 70437(a).
1. New section filed 2-19-2013 as an emergency; operative 2-28-2013 pursuant to Health and Safety Code section 1255(d)(3)(C) & (D) (Register 2013, No. 8). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 8-27-2013 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
2. New section refiled 8-19-2013 as an emergency; operative 8-20-2013 (Register 2013, No. 34). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 11-18-2013 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
3. Certificate of Compliance as to 8-19-2013 order, including amendment of subsections (a)-(a)(1), (b)(1)(A), (b)(1)(E), (b)(2)(A) and (b)(3), transmitted to OAL 11-15-2013 and filed 12-17-2013; amendments effective 12-17-2013 pursuant to Government Code section 11343.4(b)(3) (Register 2013, No. 51).
