Section 64421 - General Requirements

(a) The requirements of this Article apply to public water systems.
(b) In addition to the bacteriological monitoring requirements in Sections 64423, 64424, 64425, and 64426.9, a public water system shall perform special purpose bacteriological monitoring as follows:
(c) A public water system shall maintain documentation that the personnel performing sample collection and/or field tests under this Article have been trained pursuant to Section 64415(b). As a minimum, the documentation shall include the name and qualifications of the personnel who will be performing the sample collection and/or field tests.
(d) Plans, procedures, and requests to be submitted by a public water system to the State Board under this Article shall be in writing. For a request, the system shall state what is being requested, the basis for the request, and include any documentation to support the request.
1. Repealer
of subsection (h), deletion of former subsection (i) designator and relettering
of following subsections and amendment of NOTE filed 11-12-91 as an emergency;
operative 11-12-91 (Register 92, No. 8). A Certificate of Compliance must be
transmitted to OAL 3-11-92 or emergency language will be repealed by operation
of law on the following day.
2. Repealer of subsection (h), deletion
of former subsection (i) designator and relettering of following subsections
and amendment of NOTE refiled 3-6-92 as an emergency; operative 3-11-92
(Register 92, No. 15). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL
7-9-92 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the
following day.
3. Certificate of Compliance as to 3-6-92 order
transmitted to OAL 5-5-92 and filed 6-16-92 (Register 92, No.
25).
4. Amendment filed 7-1-92; operative 7-31-92 (Register 92, No.
28).
5. Editorial correction of HISTORY 2 (Register 95, No.
47).
6. Change without regulatory effect amending subsections
(a)(3)-(4) and NOTE filed 6-2-2015 pursuant to section
100, title 1, California Code of
Regulations (Register 2015, No. 23).
7. Repealer of subsections (a)
and (b)(1-4), new subsection (a), amendment of subscetions (b) and (b)(1) and
new subsections (b)(2), (b)(2)(A-B) and (c-d) filed 5-28-2021; operative
7-1-2021 (Register 2021, No. 22).
