Section 20280 - Requesting a Tint and Watermark Assignment

(a) Any jurisdiction holding an election, shall request ballot tint and watermark from the Secretary of State in accordance with section 13002 of the Elections Code. The request must be made in writing to the Secretary of State and contain the following information:

(1) The name of the jurisdiction conducting the election.

(2) The date of the election;

(3) The title of the election;

(4) The date of the close of candidate filing for the election, if applicable; and

(5) The date on which the ballot order designation will be determined by a randomized alphabet drawing for the election, if applicable.

(b) Unless otherwise authorized by the Secretary of State, the tint and watermark shall be issued to a jurisdiction within three days from the jurisdiction determining the ballot order as provided in sections 13112 through 13114 of the Elections Code.
