Section 20227 - Subcontracting of Ballot Printing

If any part of any authorized order for ballot printing is to be subcontracted, then:

(a) The subcontractor shall be certified by the Secretary of State prior to performing any ballot printing.

(b) The principal ballot printer shall notify the Secretary of State in writing of the subcontract, including the name of the jurisdiction(s) for which the subcontractor is manufacturing or finishing, and shall state the quantity of ballot cards, unfinished ballot cards, or test ballots to be manufactured or finished under the subcontract.

(c) Subcontractors shall be governed under these regulations in the same manner as principal contractors.

1. Repealer of former section 20227 and renumbering of former section 20238 to new section 20227, including amendment of section heading, section and NOTE, filed 3-26-2013; operative 7-1-2013 (Register 2013, No. 13).
2. Amendment of section heading and section filed 1-11-2018; operative 1-11-2018 pursuant to Government Code section 11343.4(b)(3) (Register 2018, No. 2).
