Section 20222 - Ballot Printer Certification Testing

Within 90 days after a completed application is accepted by the Secretary of State, testing shall be completed by either:

(a) A State-approved testing agency (S-ATA), pursuant to Elections Code section 19220, that confirms the ballot cards produced by the ballot printer meet the ballot requirements set forth in the voting system's Technical Data Package for the voting system for which certification is being sought; or

(b) A test conducted by the voting system vendor that confirms the ballot cards produced by the ballot printer meet the ballot requirements set forth in the voting system's Technical Data Package for the voting system for which certification is being sought.
