Section 599.951 - Enrollment

(a) The Department shall provide for an annual open enrollment period for eligible employees during the month of September or as otherwise specified by the Department. Enrollment into the FlexElect Program shall become effective on the first day of the following calendar year. The plan year shall begin on January 1 and end December 31 of each calendar year.
(b) Eligible employees must reenroll during the annual open enrollment period of each year to maintain FlexElect benefits.
(c) Elections may not be revoked, rescinded or changed after the last date of the open enrollment period unless the employee has an allowable change in status event as specified by the Internal Revenue Code.
