Section 944 - Renewal of an Osfm Trainee Registration, Apprentice Registration and Fitter Certification

(a) The notice of renewal for a Trainee Registration, Apprentice Registration, or Fitter Certification shall be returned on or before May 1st of the year in which the current certification or registration expires. If the notice of renewal is not received by May 1st, a late fee shall be charged as prescribed in Section 925.1. Renewals shall be made in writing on the notice provided by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and shall be signed and accompanied by the fees prescribed in Section 925.1.

(b) The notice of renewal for a certification or registration which has not met the time frame pursuant to Sections 937(g), 938(f), or 939(d), shall require an original application with payment of the applicable fee.

(c) Every three (3) years at the time of renewal, proof of completion for the certified fitter's Continuing Education Units (CEU) shall be submitted with the notice of renewal. If it is determined the applicant has not satisfied the required minimum CEU, the renewal shall be rejected. The certified fitter shall complete additional continuing education to meet the required minimums before reapplying for certification and must then successfully pass a written examination.
