(a) No person shall engage in the installation of water-based fire protection systems as defined in Section 924.12 without first being certified or registered in accordance with these regulations and have obtained a certification or registration card issued by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM). An Apprentice or Trainee shall become registered in accordance with the provisions in Article 5.

(b) Application for certification or registration shall be made in writing to the Office of the State Fire Marshal on forms AES 1005 or AES 1005A provided by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

(c) A fee shall accompany each application for certification or registration as prescribed in Section 925.1. All fees required in accordance with the provisions of Section 13110 of the Health and Safety Code shall be made payable to "CAL FIRE-OSFM".

(d) All fees shall be paid, and mailed to CAL FIRE -- Office of the State Fire Marshal, Cashiers Unit -- AES Program, P.O. Box 997446, Sacramento, CA 95899-7446.
