The purpose of this subarticle is to reduce hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) emissions by adopting specific prohibitions for certain substances in refrigeration, air-conditioning, chillers, ice rinks, cold storage, aerosols-propellants, and foam end-uses to support California's greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.

1. Renumbering of former subarticle 5 to subarticle 4 and new subarticle 5 (sections 95371-95377) and section filed 12-27-2018; operative 12-27-2018 pursuant to Government Code section 11343.4(b)(3) (Register 2018, No. 52).
2. Change without regulatory effect amending subarticle heading, section and NOTE filed 1-3-2020 pursuant to section 100, title 1, California Code of Regulations (Register 2020, No. 1).
3. Amendment of subarticle heading, section and NOTE filed 12-29-2021; operative 1-1-2022 pursuant to Government Code section 11343.4(b)(3) (Register 2021, No. 53). (Filing deadline specified in Government Code section 11349.3(a) extended 60 calendar days pursuant to Executive Order N-40-20.)
