(a) If the vote on the land use plan or LRDP is scheduled for a later meeting than the hearing at which oral testimony is received, the executive director shall promptly perform whatever inquiries, investigations, research, and discussions are required to resolve issues presented by the land use plan or LRDP and to enable preparation of a staff recommendation for the vote. If further information is taken or received by the executive director, it shall be made available in the administrative record of the submittal at the Commission's office and all affected parties shall be given a reasonable opportunity to respond prior to the deadline for the preparation and mailing of the staff recommendation.
(b) The executive director may request of the local government or governing authority any additional information necessary to perform the tasks set forth in subsection (a), and may report to the Commission any failure to comply with such request, including the relationship of the requested information to the findings required by the California Coastal Act of 1976.
