(a) The following common names may be used as alternates for designated names:

(1) Pacific red snapper:

Sebastes entomelas (widow rockfish)

Sebastes flavidus (yellowtail rockfish)

Sebastes goodei (chilipepper)

Sebastes jordani (shorbelly rockfish)

Sebastes levis (cowcod)

Sebastes melanops (black rockfish)

Sebastes miniatus (vermillion rockfish)

Sebastes ovalis (speckled rockfish)

Sebastes paucispinnis (bocaccio)

Sebastes pinniger (canary rockfish)

Sebastes ruberrimus (yelloweye rockfish)

Sebastes rufus (bank rockfish)

Sebastes serranoides (olive rockfish)

(2) Butterfish:

Anoplopoma fimbria (sablefish)

(b) The following common names may be used in lieu of the scientific name:

(1) Pacific ocean shrimp:

Pandalus jordani (shrimp)

(2) Dungeness crab:
