Section 1666.4 - Qualifying Projects

(a) Grants shall be awarded to Eligible Applicants providing fire prevention activities, including but not limited to those specified in the following subsections, that reduce the risk and potential impact of wildfire to Habitable Structures within the SRA. Qualifying projects include those related to hazardous fuel (vegetation) reduction, fire prevention education, and fire prevention planning. Multiple project types (e.g., hazardous fuel reduction and fire prevention education) may be proposed in a single SRAFPF Grant Application.
(b) Qualifying hazardous fuel reduction Projects include using manual, mechanical, prescribed fire, herbivory, or herbicide treatments to meet at least one of the following objectives:
(c) Qualifying fire prevention education Projects include fire prevention public education programs addressing wildland fire risks to SRA communities and/or defensible space education.
(d) Qualifying fire prevention planning Projects include wildfire risk or related mapping and/or the creation, administration, monitoring or updating of strategic wildfire planning documents, such as a CWPP or Community Evacuation Plan.
(e) Other qualifying Projects is a category included to allow applicants to propose activities designed to reduce the risk and potential impact to Habitable Structures in the SRA that do not fit cleanly into the categories above. Projects submitted in this category shall clearly explain the wildfire risk reduction benefits of the Project to Habitable Structures in the SRA.
