Section 2756 - Fuel Cap Performance Standard

On or after the model year set out herein, no person shall sell, supply, offer for sale or manufacture for sale fuel caps for fuel tanks for small off-road engines subject to this Article that do not meet the following performance standards unless exempted in an Executive Order issued pursuant to section 2767 of the Article:
Fuel Cap Performance Standards
(a) Fuel cap must be permanently tethered to the tank, equipment, or engine;
(b) Fuel cap must be designed to provide physical and/or audible feedback to the user that a fuel tank vapor seal is established;
(c) Fuel cap must meet the durability requirements in TP-902; and
(d) Fuel cap tether must meet the durability requirements in TP-902.
The following table defines equipment subject to the fuel cap performance standards of this section:
