Lamps with translucent housings shall not emit to the exterior of the vehicle more than 7.75 mcd/cm2 (50 mcd/in.2) of any color other than that emitted through the lens. Where the lighted section is large enough to fill a circle of at least 6.45 cm2 (1.00 in.2) the limit applies to the brightest location that completely fills this size circle.
