Section 2232.16 - Compulsory Uniform Provision Requirements

Except as otherwise provided in Section 2232.1, each group disability policy delivered or issued for delivery to any person in this State shall contain the provisions or alternative provisions specified in Sections 2232.17 to 2232.28, inclusive, or in Section 2232.8 hereof in the words therein set forth, subject, however, to the "General Instructions and Rules" hereof and the instructions as to its use following each such provision; provided, nevertheless, that the insurer may at its option, subject to Section 2232.5 hereof, substitute for one or more of such provisions corresponding provisions of different wording approved by the commissioner, which are in each instance not less favorable in any respect to policyholder, any individual insured or any beneficiary. Such provisions shall be preceded individually by the caption appearing herein as the caption for each such provision or by such caption and subcaption as is herein specifically permitted, or at the option of the insurer and subject to Section 2232.5 hereof, by such appropriate individual or group captions or subcaptions as the commissioner may approve.
