Rule 034.00.11-002 - Revisions to its Master Plan for the Capitol Area - reduce the size of Zone B

Universal Citation: AR Admin Rules 034.00.11-002
Current through Register Vol. 49, No. 9, September, 2024

Capitol Zoning District Commission

Summary of Rule (final)

This rule will rezone four blocks of South Victory and South Cross Streets (between Garland and West Fourth Streets) and two blocks of West Markham Street (between Victory and Cross) from Zone B to Zone A2.

The modifications to the Plan will reduce the size of Zone B. The new boundaries of Zone B would run roughly along either side of South Pulaski Street from West Fourth to just south of West Markham. Properties currently in Zone B, but not included in the proposed smaller area, will be reclassified as Zone A2.

The change will result in a larger Zone A2 which would relax the agency's land use regulations for the proposed area. Zone A2 allows for new commercial structures be built to the sidewalk edge and for a broader range of allowed uses.

Shaded areas to be rezoned from B to A2
