Code Revision of the 1998 Land Use Policy

Current regulation: Refer to current land use policy.

Revision of the AGFC Land Use Policy has been an on-going project for several years. Fisheries and enforcement has cooperatively worked together to revise this policy providing more clarity and making needed changes. Some of the more substantive changes include fee increases, change in dimensions of fishing pier and boathouse plans and specifications, addition of registration stickers and metal placards, ability to deny public access to the structures, ability for waterfront landowners to utilize the lake for irrigation and a revision of allowable practices.

33.04 PERMIT AND SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR

STRUCTURES ON COMMISSION OWNED OR CONTROLLED LAKES.

It shall be unlawful to construct, own, or possess platforms, floating duck blinds, piers, or boat houses on Commission-owned or controlled lakes without first obtaining a current permit from the Commission and permanently displaying said permit number and registration sticker er-ooo a with lettering not less than three (3) inches in height on metal placard on said structure. Party barges may be used on Commission-owned lakes, but may not be permanently moored to shoreline or used as a dwelling. They may be temporarily moored by lake front property owners on the public easement directly in front of their property, or at commercial docks. lo iirrel so ed leIt shall also be unlawful to fail to comply with the requirements of Policies on Land Use Around Game and Fish Lakes, Revised Apr 12 January 2008, or to build or maintain any structure or activity listed as "non-allowable" in said Policies. PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.
