02.04 WILD TURKEY SEASONS (2003-2004). It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take wild turkey other than during the open seasons as specified herein:

(A) Spring Wild Turkey Firearms and Archery/Crossbow Seasons: Zones 1, 2,3, 4B, 5, 5B, 6, 7, 7A, 8, 9,10 and 17: April 3-Mav 9, 2004.

Zones lA, 4, 4A, 5A and 9A: April 3-16. 2004.

(B) Fall Wild Turkey Archery/Crossbow Seasons: All Zones: October 1. 2003-Februarv 15. 2004.

(C) Fall Wild Turkey Firearms Season:

Zones 1, 2,3, 6, 7, 7A, 8 and 17: October 25-31. 2003.

Zones lA, 4, 4A, 4B, 5, 5A, 5B 9, 9A and 10: Closed.

EXCEPTION:

(1) In compliance with applicable WMA regulations Reference Code 23.01 (Turkey Seasons and Bag Limit Restrictions on WMAs). PENALTY: $200.00 to $1,000.00.

04.08 SPECIAL YOUTH TURKEY HUNT RESTRICTIONS. It shall be unlawful for anyone other than youths, 15 years of age or younger, to hunt turkeys during the special youth turkey hunt on March 27-28, 2004. Youths who have completed a hunter education course must be accompanied by an adult mentor who is 18 years of age or older. Youths who have not completed a hunter education course must be under the direct supervision of an adult mentor who is 21 years of age or older. PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.

23.02 PERMIT REQUIREMENTS ON CERTAIN WMAs, WD As and NWRs.

It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take turkey during spring permit hunts on certain WMAs, WDAs and NWRs without first obtaining the required permit or fail to follow the instructions on said permits (Ref: Code 18.23 Non-Compliance with Terms Of Permit) as specified herein:

(A) Quota: BELL SLOUGH WMA, BERYL ANTHONY/LOWER OUACHITA WMA, BOIS D'ARC WMA, CACHE RIVER NWR (Unit 2), CAMP ROBINSON WMA, CUT-OFF CREEK WMA, FELSENTHAL NWR, HAROLD E. ALEXANDER/SPRING RIVER WMA, HOLLAND BOTTOMS WMA, LAFAYETTE COUNTY WMA, POND CREEK NWR, REX HANCOCK/BLACK SWAMP WMA, SHIREY BAY/RAINEY BRAKE WMA, SULPHUR RIVER WMA, W.E. BREWER/SCATTER CREEK WMA.

(B) Youth: BAYOU METO WMA, BERYL ANTHONY/LOWER OUACHITA WMA CACHE RIVER NWR (Unit 2), CUT-OFF CREEK WMA, FELSENTHAL NWR, GULF MOUNTAIN WMA, HAROLD E. ALEXANDER/SPRING RIVER WMA, HOLLA BEND NWR, HOLLAND BOTTOMS WMA, LAFAYETTE COUNTY WMA, MADISON COUNTY WMA, , NORFORK LAKE WMA, PETIT JEAN RIVER WMA, POND CREEK NWR, REX HANCOCK/BLACK SWAMP WMA, ST. FRANCIS NATIONAL FOREST WMA, SULPHUR RIVER WMA, TRUSTEN HOLDER WMA, U OF A PINE TREE EXPERIMENTAL STATION WD A, W.E. BREWER/SCATTER CREEK WMA.

(C) A lease land permit is required for persons 16 years and older to camp, hunt or trap any type of wildlife on BIG TIMBER WMA, CASEY JONES WMA, CHEROKEE WMA, GUM FLATS WMA, JIM KRESS WMA, LAFAYETTE COUNTY WMA, PROVO WMA. A Cherokee WMA Lease Land permit is also required for the operation of motorcycles, bicycles, ATVs and horseback riding from October 1-February 28 and during Spring Turkey seasons in Spring Turkey Zones 2, 6 and 7 on CHEROKEE and JIM KRESS WMAs, except on state or county roads.

PENALTY: $200.00 to $1,000.00. In addition, a jail sentence not to exceed 10 days may be imposed and hunting privileges may be suspended in accordance with Code 11.05, Revocation of Privileges.

APPROVED 2003-2004 WMDCODE

12.23 FALCONRY SEASON RESTRICTIONS. It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take migratory birds with raptors other than during the regular migratory bird seasons except as follows DUCKS, COOTS and MERGANSERS: December 8-42 11, 2003, December 25, 2003 and January 26-February -t£ 18, 2004. PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.

12.25 SPECIAL YOUTH WATERFOWL HUNT RESTRICTIONS. It shall be unlawful for anyone other than youths, 15 years of age or younger, to hunt ducks, mergansers, and coots during the special youth waterfowl hunt on January 31-February 1, 2004. Youths who have completed a hunter education course must be under the direct supervision of by an adult mentor who is 18 years of age or older. Youths who have not completed a hunter education course must be accompanied by an adult mentor who is 21 years of age or older. Mentors may not hunt ducks, geese, mergansers or coots but may, if properly licensed, hunt other game in season. Shooting hours and bag limits are the same as the regular waterfowl season. All Commission owned Waterfowl Rest Areas, Bob Young and Horsehead Creek Waterfowl Rest Areas on Dardanelle WMA, are open to youth hunting during the Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt. EXCEPTION:

(1) The Waterfowl Rest Area on Ed Gordon/Point Remove WMA is closed during the Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt. PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.

25.01 MIGRATORY WATERFOWL SHOOTING HOUR RESTRICTIONS

WITHIN CERTAIN WMAs AND WD As. It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take migratory waterfowl during migratory waterfowl seasons later than 12:00 o'clock noon on Wildlife Management Areas. EXCEPTIONS:

(A) Migratory waterfowl hunting permitted during the entire day (regular shooting hours) of the last 3 days of the last duck season. Ref: Commission code 12.15 (Duck and Coot Season Restrictions).

(B) In Compliance with 25.02, Hunting or Trespassing prohibited within Certain Waterfowl Management Areas.

(C) All day hunting allowed during the Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt on January 31-February 1, 2004 (Ref. Code 12.25 Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt Restrictions).

(D) All Commission owned Waterfowl Rest Areas, Bob Young and Horsehead Creek Waterfowl Rest Areas on Dardanelle WMA are open to all day hunting, , to youth hunting during the Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt.

(E) The Waterfowl Rest Area on Ed Gordon/Point Remove WMA is closed.

(F) All day hunting allowed on Beaver Lake, Dardanelle, Ft. Chaffee, Mt. Magazine and Ozark Lake WMAs.

PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00

25.02 HUNTING OR TRESPASSING PROHIBITED WITHIN CERTAIN

WMAs AND LAKES. It shall be unlawful to duck hunt or trespass on the following areas and lakes as specified herein:

(1) BAYOU METO - Wrape Plantation WRA is open until 12:00 Noon for waterfowl hunting on Saturdays and Sundays only (permit required) during the waterfowl season although opens to hunting all day the last three days of the last duck season. Halowell WRA is closed to access 30 days before the first duck season until February 15. The Wrape Plantation WRA will be closed to access 30 days before the first duck season until February 15, except on Saturdays and Sundays of the waterfowl season and the youth hunt.

(2) BELL SLOUGH - Palarm Creek Waterfowl Rest Areas closes to access 30 days before the first duck season until 30 days after the last duck season.

(3) BIG LAKE - Mallard Lake is closed to hunting

(4) BOIS d'ARC - Red Slough Waterfowl Rest Area is open until 12:00 Noon for waterfowl hunting on Saturdays and Sundays only (permit required) during the waterfowl season although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season, open to archery deer hunting October 1-November 7 and open to small game hunting until October 15. Bois d'Arc Lake is closed to waterfowl hunting except open to hunting all day the last three days of the last duck season. Boat motors larger than 25hp are prohibited on the Greentree Waterfowl Area, Red Slough and Little Grassy duck area.

(5) BREWER LAKE - Closed to waterfowl hunting.

(6) CAMP ROBINSON WDA - Closed to waterfowl hunting.

(7) CAMP ROBINSON WMA - Waterfowl hunting ends at noon although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season. Duck blinds are prohibited.

(8) CASEY JONES - Waterfowl hunting ends at noon although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season.

(9) CUT-OFF CREEK - Pigeon Creek Waterfowl Rest Area closes following the last day of the modern gun deer season until the end of the last duck season. Travel by boat is prohibited on Latin Drain, Firehunt Slough and Third Slough except during high water periods when boating access is possible to the Deep Slough Dam. In this case, boats may be used areawide, however, boat motors may only be used on Cut-Off Creek and Deep Slough.

(10) DAGMAR - Apple Lake WRA is open until 12:00 Noon for waterfowl hunting on Saturdays and Sundays only (permit required) during the waterfowl season although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season,

(11) DARDANELLE - Waterfowl hunting is not allowed on that part of Big Spadra and Little Spadra Creeks lying north of the Missouri

Pacific Railroad, east of Crawford Street, south of I-40, and west of State Hwy 103, or all park boundaries, state highways and all waterfowl rest areas. Dogs, hunting or trapping devices are prohibited on Johnson County Waterfowl Rest Area and Horsehead Creek and Bob Young WRAs. The WRAs are closed to access during waterfowl seasons, except for archery deer hunting October 1-31 and February 1-15. Horsehead Creek and Bob Young WRAs are open to youth hunting during the Special Youth Waterfowl Hunt.

(12) DAVE DONALDSON/BLACK RIVER - The GTR Waterfowl Rest Area (all of Section 21, Township 11N, Range 3E lying south of Black River) is open until 12:00 Noon for waterfowl hunting on Saturdays and Sundays only (permit required) during the waterfowl season although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season. Hunting is not allowed on Hubble Lake during duck season. The rest area and Hubble Lake open to hunting all day the last three days of the last duck season. Lake Ashbaugh is closed to hunting.

(13) ED GORDON/POINT REMOVE - The Waterfowl Rest Area is closed to all hunting and trespassing from November 15 - February 28.

(14) FT. CHAFFEE - The Ft. Chaffee Waterfowl Rest Area in Sportsmen Compartment 3 closes to access 30 days prior to the first duck season until the last duck season closes.

(15) HARRIS BRAKE - Open to waterfowl hunting only Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Hunting ends at noon although hunting all day is allowed the last three days of the last duck season. During duck season, other hunters must abide by same hours and days as duck hunters, except for those trapping and hunting furbearers at night. Only shotguns and archery equipment are allowed for hunting. Harris Brake Lake is closed to hunting.

(16) HOLLAND BOTTOMS - Lake Pickthorne Waterfowl Rest Area is closed to hunting and it closes to access 30 days prior to the first duck season until 30 days after the last duck season.

(17) LAFAYETTE COUNTY - Waterfowl hunting ends at noon on Lake Erling although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season. Waterfowl hunting is not allowed on Lick Creek area of Lake Erling (portion of lake lying west of IP road #41) except for hunting all day the last three days of last duck season.

(18) LITTLE BAYOU - Closed to waterfowl hunting.

(19) NIMROD - Nimrod Waterfowl Rest Area is closed to waterfowl hunting except during the last three days of the last duck season.

(20) PETIT JEAN WMA - Waterfowl impoundments are closed to trespass from one hour after sunset until 4:00 a.m.

(21) REX HANCOCK/BLACK SWAMP - Dogs, hunting or trapping devices are prohibited on Lee LeBlanc WRA.

(22) RICK EVANS/GRANDVIEW PRAIRIE - Waterfowl hunting closed on all lakes and ponds.

(23) SHIREY BAY/RAINEY BRAKE - The waterfowl rest area in Sections 7 and 8, T13N, R2W; Sections 21 and 28, T16N, R2W; Section 3 , T15N, R2W; and Section 32, T16N, R2W closes to hunting 14 days prior to and during duck season although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season.

(24) ST. FRANCIS FOREST - Waterfowl hunting ends at noon. Boat motors over 10 hp are prohibited.

(25) ST. FRANCIS SUNKEN LANDS - Waterfowl hunting ends at noon although hunting is allowed all day the last three days of the last duck season. The Sections 8,9,16 and 17, T11N, R6E is closed to hunting 30 days prior to and during duck season. Rest areas open to hunting all day the last three days of the last duck season.

(26) SULPHUR RIVER - Henry Moore Waterfowl Rest Area closes to access September 1 - February 28, but opens to hunting all day the last three days of the last duck season and to archery deer season October 1-November 7.

(27) LAKE CONWAY - Closed to waterfowl hunting except on the Pierce Creek and Dixs Creek Bays, waterfowl hunting ends at noon.

(28) CANE CREEK LAKE (Lincoln County) - Waterfowl hunting ends at noon.

(29) U OF A PINE TREE EXPERIMENTAL STATION WDA: North of Hwy. 306 closed to all trespassing during waterfowl season.

(30) Lake Pickthorne - Closed to waterfowl hunting. PENALTY: $100.00 to $1,000.00.
