Section R9-6-341 - Hantavirus Infection

A. Case control measures: A local health agency shall:
1. Upon receiving a report under
R9-6-202
of a hantavirus infection case or suspect case, notify the Department within
one working day after receiving the report and provide to the Department the
information contained in the report;
2. Ensure that a
hantavirus infection case or, if the case is a child or incapacitated adult,
the parent or guardian of the case receives health education about reducing the
risks of becoming reinfected with or of having others become infected with
hantavirus;
3. Conduct an
epidemiologic investigation of each reported hantavirus infection case or
suspect case; and
4. For each hantavirus
infection case, submit to the Department, as specified in Table 2.4, the
information required under
R9-6-206(D).
B. Environmental control measures: A local health agency shall conduct an environmental assessment for each hantavirus infection case or suspect case.
