Section R9-6-326 - Cryptosporidiosis

A. Case control measures: A local health agency shall:
1.
Exclude a cryptosporidiosis case or suspect case with diarrhea from:
a. Working as a food handler, caring for
patients or residents in a health care institution, or caring for children in
or attending a child care establishment until diarrhea has resolved;
and
b. Using an aquatic venue for
two weeks after diarrhea has resolved;
2. Conduct an epidemiologic investigation of
each reported cryptosporidiosis case or suspect case; and
3. For each cryptosporidiosis case, submit to
the Department, as specified in Table 2.4, the information required under
R9-6-206(D).
B. Environmental control measures: A local health agency shall conduct a sanitary inspection or ensure that a sanitary inspection is conducted of each facility or location regulated under 9 A.A.C. 8 that is associated with an outbreak of cryptosporidiosis.
