Section R7-2-1402 - Charter School Committee

A. The Board of Education shall establish a Charter School Committee that shall have the responsibility of reviewing applications and preparing a recommendation for the Board of Education's consideration.
B. The Board of Education shall appoint the members of the committee. The committee shall consist of seven members as follows:
1. An individual knowledgeable in
building construction or renovation;
2. An individual knowledgeable in finance and
accounting and in generally accepted accounting practices;
3. An individual representing a city in this
state who is knowledgeable about zoning and operating permit
requirements;
4. An individual
knowledgeable about elementary and high school curricula and the development
and evaluation of curricula;
5. An
individual knowledgeable about assessments and the administration of
assessments;
6. An individual
representing the Board of Education;
7. A current operator of a charter school
sponsored by the Board of Education.
C. Terms of each member of the committee shall be for three years. Members may be appointed for subsequent terms upon approval by the Board of Education.
