8 AAC 98.310 - Prerequisites for training of vending facility managers

(a) The division will provide training in vending facility management as appropriate, to an applicant who meets the following requirements:
(1) the applicant has had no previous
training as a vending facility manager; and
(2) for placement in vending facilities on
(A) federal property, the applicant is blind
and a citizen of the United States;
(B) state property, the applicant is blind or
a person with a severe disability.
(b) Unless waived by the director for good cause, an applicant must
(1) have had a
complete physical examination within the preceding six months, including an eye
examination by an ophthalmologist or an optometrist if the applicant is
blind;
(2) have completed a
vocational evaluation to determine compatibility with management of a vending
facility;
(3) have sufficient
educational skills, knowledge, and capacity to benefit from on-the-job and
formal training in the operation of a vending facility; and
(4) based on the physical examination and
vocational evaluation during placement in an actual vending facility setting,
be able to work an eight-hour day, five days a week, for a minimum of 30
days.
With Register 179, October 2006 and under the authority of AS 44.62.125, the regulations attorney changed obsolete terminology concerning persons with disabilities in conformity with ch. 25, SLA 2006.
