In 7 AAC 100.550 - 7 AAC 100.579, unless the context requires otherwise,

(1) "available income" means income to which a community spouse has access and over which a community spouse has control;

(2) "dependent child" means the minor child of the recipient who lives with the community spouse and who may be claimed by either spouse as a dependent for income tax purposes;

(3) "dependent parent" means a parent of either spouse who resides with the community spouse and who may be claimed by either spouse as a dependent for income tax purposes;

(4) "extreme financial duress" means the needs of the individual that are not normally associated with the basic living expenses of an individual living in that community would not be provided if not paid for by the individual, and if not provided would result in the individual being unable to live independently in the community;

(5) "swing-bed facility" means a facility that includes hospital beds that can be used interchangeably to promote either acute, skilled nursing, or intermediate care.
