7 AAC 67.040 - Issuance of a provisional foster home license

(a) If, after evaluation and inspection, the department determines the applicant meets the requirements of AS 47.32, this chapter, and any other applicable statutes or regulations, the department will issue a provisional foster home license.

(b) A provisional foster home license is issued for the physical address where the applicant resides and is not transferrable to another individual, owner, or operator, or another physical address, except as authorized by this chapter.

(c) Taking into consideration the preference of the applicant, and the assessment under 7 AAC 67.035(a), the department may impose a condition on a provisional foster home license.

(d) If the department decides not to issue or to deny a provisional foster home license, the department will issue a written notice to the applicant. In the notice, the department will outline the reasons for nonissuance or denial of the provisional foster home license and the process for appeal of this determination under AS 47.32.070.
