7 AAC 53.330 - One-time items

(a) "One-time items" are goods or services that are not included in out-of-home care payments because of high one-time or short-term costs exceeding $100. An out-of-home care provider may request one-time item money for a child placed by the department when there is no other resource for payment.

(b) One-time item money may cover items such as

(1) special cribs, beds, mattresses, or discretionary devices for persons with disabilities;

(2) special event costs, such as graduation costs or Christmas gift money, if the child is placed less than 90 days before the event;

(3) costs for pre-placement visitation and travel.

(c) An out-of-home care provider will not be reimbursed for an expenditure if it was made or incurred before receiving written approval of the one-time request, or if it is included in a rate under 7 AAC 53.050 - 7 AAC 53.060 and 7 AAC 53.365.

(d) A request by an out-of-home care provider for one-time item money must be made to the department in writing.

(e) Not later than 10 working days after receiving a request for one-time item money, the department will notify an out-of-home care provider of the action taken by the department on the request.
