Firearms, lethal weapons, and chemical agents such as mace and tear gas may not be used or permanently stored inside the building of a juvenile correction facility. The facility shall provide secure gun lockers for the storage of weapons by law enforcement personnel entering the facility on official business. If an emergency situation has placed residents or staff in immediate danger, the superintendent may authorize law enforcement personnel to enter the building with their weapons.
