7 AAC 48.080 - Standards for reimbursement to providers

The department, acting through a fiscal agent, will reimburse providers for medical services rendered to individuals eligible under this chapter in an amount to exceed 100 percent of the total unpaid bills related to the catastrophic illness subject to the following limitations:

(1) Medical bills must be incurred during the 12-month period following the onset of the illness or injury for which assistance is granted; the initial 12-month period begins with the date of the first charges incurred because of the illness, but no charges incurred before July 1, 1976, will be considered;

(2) repealed 8/17/84;

(3) The department will not reimburse a provider for the applicant's share of the total medical expenses; however, reimbursement is conditioned on an agreement by the provider to enter into a payment schedule with the applicant for a period of at least three years to permit repayment of the applicant's share;

(4) The department will reimburse a provider at the rates and in the manner established under 7 AAC 105 - 7 AAC 160;

(5) repealed 8/17/84;

(6) repealed 8/17/84.
