7 AAC 12.360 - Emergency equipment, treatment and requirements

(a) The following emergency equipment must be available in the operating rooms:
(1) an emergency call system;
(2) equipment for the delivery of
oxygen;
(3) mechanical ventilatory
assistance equipment, including airways in a range of sizes, and a manual
breathing bag;
(4) a cardiac
defibrillator;
(5) cardiac
monitoring equipment;
(6) a
tracheotomy set;
(7) laryngoscopes
and endotracheal tubes in a range of sizes;
(8) suction equipment; and
(9) emergency drugs and supplies determined
by the medical staff.
(b) A registered nurse must be on-site to provide emergency treatment at all times when a patient is present in the facility.
(c) An ambulatory surgical center shall provide written notice of the center's operation and population served to the nearest general acute care hospitals in the event that transfer of a patient who requires medical or emergency care beyond the scope of the ability or license of the center is needed.
