7 AAC 12.490 - Definitions

In 7 AAC 12.450 - 7 AAC 12.490, unless the context indicates otherwise,

(1) "emergency medical technician" has the meaning given in AS 18.08.200;

(2) "extended stay" means a stay of four hours or longer described in 7 AAC 12.450(a) (2);

(3) "food" means a raw, cooked, or processed edible substance, ice, beverage, or ingredient used or intended for use or sale, in whole or in part, for human consumption;

(4) "frontier extended stay clinic" has the meaning given in AS 47.32.900;

(5) "primary community health aide" has the meaning given in AS 18.28.100;

(6) "public highway" means a paved highway that is maintained year-round and open to the public for vehicular travel;

(7) "service area" means the geographical area in which a frontier extended stay clinic regularly provides services to individuals;

(8) "telemedicine" means the practice of health care delivery, evaluation, diagnosis, consultation, or treatment, using the transfer of medical data through audio, visual, or data communications that are engaged in over two or more locations between providers who are physically separated from the patient or from each other.
