7 AAC 05.730 - Filing of certificate

When the new certificate of birth has been established, it shall be substituted in place of the original certificate. All references to the original certificate shall be removed or deleted from the regular indexes, and from any other source to which the public might have access. The original certificate, any attachments thereto, and all correspondence, decrees, adjudications, or other reference to the adoption or legitimation shall be sealed away from any inspection except upon order of a superior court; provided that the State Registrar may open all or part of such sealed file for inspection by the person whose record it is, if of legal age; by an agent of the state or federal government acting in the performance of official duties; or for any necessary administrative purpose within the bureau.
