6 AAC 27.080 - Certification of election

(a) Upon completion of the review, the director shall certify the election.

(b) In regions where the school board passed a resolution allowing for plurality elections, the director may issue a certificate of election to the candidate receiving the greatest number of votes for each respective office.

(c) In regions that require election by a specified percentage of the votes cast, the director may issue a certificate of election to the candidate receiving the greatest number of votes in excess of the percentage of the votes cast required for election to each respective office.

As of Register 202 (July 2012), the regulations attorney made a conforming technical revision under AS 44.62.125(b)(6), to the authority citation that follows 6 AAC 27.080, deleting the citation to former AS 46.40.150 to reflect the repeal of that statute on July 1, 2011, by operation of law under sec. 18, ch. 31, SLA 2005.
