6 AAC 25.531 - Registration information on absentee in-person and questioned ballot envelope

Universal Citation: 6 AK Admin Code 25.531

Current through February 27, 2024

(a) The oath and affidavit envelope prepared by the director for use by a voter voting an absentee ballot in person or voting a questioned ballot at a polling place on election day will permit a person to register, reregister, or update the person's current registration record. However, failure of the voter to provide information in excess of what is required for the purposes of voting absentee in person or voting a questioned ballot will not cause the ballot to be rejected.

(b) The ballot of a person registering to vote under (a) of this section will be rejected under 6 AAC 25.630(1) - (3) or 6 AAC 25.640(1) - (3). However, the person's name will be placed on the official registration list for the next election occurring 30 days or more after the date the person registered.

(c) The information provided by a voter updating the voter's registration under (a) of this section is effective on the date the oath and affidavit is executed, and will be considered in determining the eligibility of the voter to vote in the election.
