5 AAC 92.132 - Bag limit for brown bears

A person may not take more than one brown bear every four regulatory years, except that
(1) he bag limit for brown bear in Unit 1(C), Berners Bay drainages, Units 6 (except Unit 6(D)), 7, 11, 13, 14(A), 14(B), 14(C), that portion within the Chugach State Park Management Area, Units 15, 20 (except Unit 20(E)), 22(C), 24(A), 25(A), 25(B), 25(C), 26(B), and 26(C) is one bear per regulatory year; a bear taken in these units does not count against the one bear every four regulatory years' bag limit established for brown bears in other units; in Units 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20(E), 21, 22(A), 22(B), 22(D), 22(E), 23, 24(B) 24(C), 24(D), 25(D), and 26(A), a person may take two brown bears per regulatory year; a bear taken in these units does not count against the one bear every four regulatory years' bag limit established for brown bears in other units;
(2) repealed 8/9/90;
(3) repealed 8/9/90;
(4) the bag limit for a resident hunting in Unit 9(B), all drainages in Unit 9(E) that drain into the Pacific Ocean between Cape Kumliun and the border of Unit 9(D) and Unit 9(E), Units 22(C) and 24(A), with a subsistence brown bear registration permit is one bear per regulatory year; the bag limit for a resident hunting in Units 17,18, 19(A) downstream of and including the Aniak River drainage, 19(B) downstream of and including the Aniak River drainage, 21, 22(A), 22(B), 22(D), 22(E), 23, 24(B), 24(C), 24(D), and 26(A) with a subsistence brown bear registration permit is two bears per regulatory year; a bear taken in any of these units does not count against the one bear every four regulatory years' bag limit established for brown bears taken under a resident tag;
(5) repealed 7/1/2004;
(6) repealed 8/10/2024.
