(a) Unless otherwise specified by an
emergency order issued under
AS
16.05.060, the following are localized
additions and exceptions to the general seasons, bag, possession, annual, and
size limits, and methods and means specified in
5
AAC 59.120 and 5 AAC 75 for the Anchorage Bowl
Drainages Area:
(1) the Bird Creek drainage
(A) from its mouth upstream 500 yards to an
ADF&G regulatory marker is open from July 14 - December 31 to sportfishing
for salmon, other than king salmon, with a bag and possession limit for salmon,
other than king salmon, 16 inches or greater in length of three fish;
(B) is closed upstream of the ADF&G
regulatory marker located 500 yards upstream of the mouth to sport fishing for
all salmon;
(C) is closed to sport
fishing from January 1 - July 13;
(2) in the Campbell Creek drainage,
(A) sport fishing is closed from
(i) its mouth upstream to an ADF&G
regulatory marker located under the Dimond Boulevard Bridge; and
(ii) an ADF&G regulatory marker located
near Shelikof Street upstream to an ADF&G regulatory marker located on the
upstream side of the Lake Otis Parkway Bridge;
(iii) April 15 - June 14;
(iv) the upstream side of the Lake Otis
Parkway Bridge upstream to an ADF& G marker at the forks near Piper Street
from October 1 - July 13;
(B) in the waters upstream of the forks near
Piper Street, only one unbaited, single-hook, artificial lure may be
used;
(C) in the waters upstream of
the forks near Piper Street, rainbow/steelhead trout may not be possessed or
retained; rainbow/steelhead trout that are caught must be released immediately
and returned to the water unharmed;
(D) in the waters downstream of the forks
near Piper Street, the bag and possession limit for rainbow/steelhead trout is
five fish, of which only one per day may be 20 inches or greater in
length;
(E) from July 14 -
September 30, the waters between ADF&G regulatory markers located under the
Dimond Boulevard Bridge upstream to an ADF&G regulatory marker located near
Piper Street, except those waters between Shelikof Street and the Lake Otis
Parkway Bridge which is closed to sport fishing, are open to sport fishing for
coho salmon 16 inches or greater in length; bag and possession limit of three
fish;
(F) repealed

(G) a person 16 years of
age or older may not sport fish in Campbell Creek between Dimond Boulevard and
the Old Seward Highway during the designated youth fishing days which occur on
the last Saturday and Sunday in June from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; during the
designated youth fishing days, king salmon may be taken with a bag and
possession limit of one fish 20 inches or greater in length, and 10 fish less
than 20 inches in length; except as provided in (b) of this section, there is
an annual limit of five king salmon 20 inches or greater in length and a
harvest record is required as specified in

AAC 75.006; after taking a king salmon 20 inches or
greater in length, a person may not sport fish for any species of finfish in
waters open to king salmon fishing on that same day;
(3) in the Chester Creek drainage,
(A) the bag and possession limit for
rainbow/steelhead trout is five fish, of which only one per day may be 20
inches or greater in length;
(B)
sport fishing is closed from April 15 - June 14;
(4) in the Eagle River drainage,
(A) the waters from its mouth upstream to the
Route Bravo Bridge on Fort Richardson Army Base are closed to sport
fishing;
(B) the waters from Route
Bravo Bridge upstream to ADF&G regulatory markers located at mile 7.4 of
the Eagle River Road, including waters within 100 yards of its confluence with
the South Fork, but not including the South Fork, is open to sport fishing for
all finfish species, except king salmon;
(C) from September 16 - May 31, the waters
upstream of ADF&G regulatory markers located at river mile 7.4 of the Eagle
River Road and the North Fork and its tributaries are open to sport fishing for
all finfish species, except king salmon;
(D) from August 15 - May 31, the South Fork
of Eagle River from its confluence with Eagle River upstream to the falls, is
closed to sport fishing for salmon;
(E) the South Fork Eagle River upstream of
the falls is open to sport fishing;
(F) the waters from Bailey Bridge on Ft.
Richardson Army Base upstream to ADF&G regulatory markers in the Chugach
State Park Eagle River Campground are open to sport fishing for king salmon on
Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays for four consecutive weeks beginning on the
Saturday before Memorial Day;
(G)
the bag and possession limit for king salmon is one fish, 20 inches or greater
in length, except as provided in (b) of this section, there is an annual limit
of two king salmon 20 inches or greater in length and a harvest record is
required as specified in

AAC 75.006; a king salmon 20 inches or greater in
length that is removed from the water must be retained and becomes part of the
bag limit of the person who originally hooked it; a person may not remove a
king salmon from the water before releasing the fish;
(H) after taking a king salmon 20 inches or
greater in length, a person may not sport fish for any species of fish that
same day in waters open to sport fishing for king salmon;
(5) in the Eklutna River drainage,
(A) the waters from its mouth upstream to the
Glenn Highway are open to sport fishing for salmon, other than king, coho, and
sockeye salmon;
(B) from January 1
- September 30, the waters upstream of the Glenn Highway are open to sport
fishing for salmon, other than king coho, and sockeve
salmon;
(6) in the
Glacier Creek drainage, including California Creek,
(A) the waters from Glacier Creek mouth
upstream of ADF&G regulatory markers located approximately 25 yards above
the confluence of California Creek, are open to sport fishing for salmon, other
than king salmon;
(B) from January
1 - September 30, the waters upstream of ADF&G regulatory markers located
approximately 25 yards above the confluence of California Creek, are open to
sport fishing for salmon, other than king salmon;
(C) the California Creek drainage from its
confluence with Glacier Creek upstream of ADF&G regulatory markers located
approximately 25 yards above the confluence is open to sport fishing for
salmon, other than king salmon;
(D)
from January 1 - September 30, the California Creek drainage upstream from
ADF&G regulatory markers approximately 25 yards above its confluence with
Glacier Creek is open to sport fishing for salmon, other than king
salmon;
(7) the Indian
Creek drainage,
(A) downstream of the Seward
Highway Bridge is open to sport fishing;
(B) from July 1 - December 31, upstream of
the Seward Highway Bridge, is closed to sport fishing;
(C) upstream of the Seward Highway Bridge is
closed to sport fishing for salmon;
(8) in the Ingram Creek drainage,
(A) the waters from its mouth upstream to
ADF&G regulatory markers located approximately 50 yards upstream of the
Seward Highway are open to sport fishing for salmon, other than king
salmon;
(B) from January 1 -
September 30, the waters upstream of ADF&G regulatory markers located
approximately 50 yards upstream of the Seward Highway are open to sport fishing
for salmon, other than king salmon;
(9) the Peters Creek drainage,
(A) from its mouth upstream to the Glenn
Highway is open to sport fishing for salmon, other than king salmon;
(B) upstream from the Glenn Highway is closed
to sport fishing for salmon;
(10) the Placer River drainage,
(A) excluding Lower Explorer Creek upstream
from ADF&G regulatory markers located near its confluence with Lower
Explorer Pond and excluding Skookum Creek upstream from the Alaska Railroad
Bridge is open to sport fishing for salmon, other than king salmon;
(B) from January 1 - July 13, Lower Explorer
Creek upstream from ADF&G regulatory markers located near its confluence
with Lower Explorer Pond is open to sport fishing for all finfish species,
except king salmon;
(C) from
January 1 - July 13, Skookum Creek upstream of the Alaska Railroad Bridge is
open to sport fishing for all finfish species, except king
salmon;
(11) the Portage
Creek drainage,
(A) excluding Lower Railroad
Slough, Williwaw Creek, and Placer Creek, is open to sport fishing for all
finfish species, except king salmon;
(B) from January 1 - July 13, in Lower
Railroad Slough upstream from ADF&G regulatory markers located at its
confluence with Portage Creek is open to sport fishing for all finfish species,
except king salmon;
(C) from
September 16 - June 30, Williwaw Creek is open to sport fishing, except for
salmon;
(D) the Placer Creek
Drainage (all Bear Valley streams) is open to sport fishing, except for
salmon;
(12) the Potter
Creek/Potter Marsh drainage is closed to sport fishing;
(13) in the Rabbit Creek drainage, sport
fishing is closed
(A) in the waters from its
mouth upstream to the Old Seward Highway;
(B) to salmon fishing in the waters upstream
of the Old Seward Highway;
(14) in the Ship Creek drainage,
(A) the waters from its mouth upstream to a
cable 100 feet downstream of the Chugach Power Plant dam are open to sport
fishing for all finfish species, from January 1 - December 31;
(B) the bag and possession limit for salmon
other than king salmon, 16 inches or greater in length is three fish;
(C) the bag and possession limit for king
salmon 20 inches or greater in length is one fish; except as provided in (b) of
this section, there is an annual harvest limit of five king salmon 20 inches or
greater in length and a harvest record is required as specified in
5
AAC 75.006; a king salmon 20 inches or greater in
length that is removed from the water must be retained and becomes a part of
the bag limit of the person that originally hooked the fish; a person may not
remove a king salmon from the water before releasing the fish;
(D) from May 15 - July 13, sport fishing is
closed from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.;
(E) from January 1 - July 13, after taking
and retaining a king salmon 20 inches or greater in length, a person may not
sport fish for any species that same day in waters open to king salmon
fishing;
(F) the waters from the
cable 100 feet downstream of the Chugach Power upstream to ADF&G regulatory
markers located 300 feet upstream of the Elmendorf Power Plant dam are closed
to sport fishing;
(G) repealed

(I) the waters upstream
of an ADF&G regulatory marker located 300 feet above the Elmendorf Power
Plant dam are open to sport fishing;
(J) a person 16 years of age or older may not
sport fish in the Ship Creek youth fishery zone, established in Ship Creek
between the upstream side of the C Street Bridge upstream to the downstream
side of the restaurant bridge, during the designated youth fishery day, which
occurs from 6:00 a.m. to 11;00 p.m. on the third Saturday in
June.
(15) the Sixmile
Creek Drainage from its mouth upstream to Lower Six Mile Lake is closed to
sport fishing;
(16) in the Twenty
Mile River drainage,
(A) the waters from its
mouth upstream approximately 10 miles to ADF&G regulatory markers and the
Glacier River drainage from its confluence with Twenty Mile River upstream to
ADF&G regulatory markers located at its confluence with Carmen Lake outlet
stream are open to sport fishing, except for king salmon;
(B) from January 1 - July 13, the waters
upstream from ADF&G regulatory markers located approximately 10 miles
upstream from its mouth, and the Glacier River drainage upstream of its
confluence with the Carmen Lake outlet are open to sport fishing, except for
king salmon;
(17) in
Symphony Lake,
(A) sport fishing is open from
July 1 - May 1;
(B) the bag and
possession limit for Arctic grayling is five fish, of which only one fish may
be greater than 12 inches in length.
(b) Notwithstanding an annual limit
established in this section for king salmon, the annual limit for king salmon
in the combined waters of the Anchorage Bowl Drainages Area and the other areas
in the Cook Inlet region that are open to sport fishing for king salmon under 5
AAC 56 - 5 AAC 62 is five king salmon 20 inches or greater in length, not more
than two of which may be taken from that portion of the Kenai River drainage
open to king salmon fishing, and not more than two of which may be taken, in
combination, from Deep Creek and the Anchor River, except that from January 1
through June 30, a king salmon less than 28 inches in length taken from the
Kenai River does not count towards the annual limit.
