5 AAC 28.585 - Logbook requirements for South Alaska Peninsula Area

(a) An operator of a vessel fishing for black rockfish in the South Alaska Peninsula Area shall maintain an accurate logbook of all fishing operations for each type of gear used.
(b) A logbook described in (a) of this section must
(1) include the
date, the specific location of harvest by latitude and longitude, the number of
hooks and lines used, the average depth of each set fished, and the hours
fished for each line;
(2) include,
for the target species, and for each bycatch species, the number of fish
(A) retained; and
(B) discarded;
(3) be updated not later than 11:59 p.m.
local time on the day after the day of operation;
(4) be retained, with its original pages, for
a period of two years by the owner or operator of the vessel;
(5) be kept on board the vessel while
operating gear, during transits to or from a port of landing, and for five days
after delivering groundfish;
(6) be
made available to a local representative of the department upon
request.
(c) A copy of the page of the logbook described in (a) in this section pertaining to a landing must be attached to the fish ticket documenting the landing.
(d) A person may not make a false entry in the logbook described in (a) of this section.
