(a) Salmon may not be taken for subsistence purposes in
(1) the
Klawock River drainage upstream of the Klawock River Bridge;
(2) District 15, in the salt waters of Lynn
Canal, including Chilkat Inlet, Chilkoot Inlet, and Lutak Inlet, during closed
periods of the commercial salmon net fishery in the district, except that
salmon may be taken in salt waters of Chilkoot Inlet and Lutak Inlet north of
the latitude of Battery Point at 59° 12.47' N. lat., excluding waters of
Tai ya Inlet north of the latitude of Tai ya Point at 59° 17.27' N. lat.,
and in Chilkat Inlet north of the latitude of Glacier Point at 59° 06.02'
N. lat. on the Saturday before and the day before any period that the
commercial salmon net fishery is open in the waters of Section
15-A.
(b) Groundfish may not be taken for subsistence purposes in the waters off Cape Edgecumbe enclosed by a box defined as 56° 55.5' N. lat., 56° 57' N. lat., 135° 54' W. long., and 135° 57' W. long.
At its February 23 - 27, 1993 meeting, the Board of Fisheries readopted 5 AAC 01.725 (now 5 AAC 01.725(a)) in its entirety without change, under ch. 1, SSSLA 1992 (the 1992 subsistence law), which repealed and reenacted AS 16.05.258.
