22 AAC 20.265 - Mandatory parole release and release planning

(a) A prisoner serving a state sentence or sentences of imprisonment of at least two years shall be released on mandatory parole supervision after service of the sentence less time deducted for good conduct.

(b) A prisoner released on mandatory parole supervision remains in the custody of the board until the maximum term or terms to which the prisoner was sentenced on the state sentence or sentences.

(c) A prisoner due to be released on mandatory parole supervision under AS 33.16.010 and AS 33.20.040 is encouraged to work with institutional staff to develop a viable release plan as set forth in 22 AAC 20.235. If requested by the prisoner, department staff will assist the prisoner in developing a release plan.
