Chapter 92 - Vehicle Registration, Title, and Transfer

Before Register 178, July 2006, the regulations contained in 2 AAC 92, regarding vehicle registration, title, and transfer were located in 13 AAC 70 (Public Safety). The substance of those regulations were adopted and further amended by the Department of Administration and moved to 2 AAC 92 in accordance with Executive Order No. 99 (effective March 16, 1997), which transferred functions from the Department of Public Safety to the Department of Administration relating to title issuance and registration of motor vehicles, licensing of drivers, driver counseling, licensing of driver training schools, and enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act and the Alaska Mandatory Automobile Insurance Act.
